Timber Decking Melbourne — Melbourne's South-East

A quality timber deck can completely transform how you use and enjoy your outdoor space. Whether you're after a simple level deck off the back door or a multi-level structure with stairs and integrated seating, we design and build decks that last.

We work with Merbau (the most popular choice — hard, durable, attractive), hardwood species like Spotted Gum and Blackbutt, and treated pine (most cost-effective for ground-level decks). Composite decking is also available on request.

Every deck we build starts with a solid subframe — the part you don't see but that determines whether your deck lasts 10 years or 30. We use galvanised hardware throughout and treat all cut ends with timber preservative.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does Merbau decking last?

A properly built Merbau deck with stainless or hot-dip galvanised fixings will last 25–40+ years with regular oiling (every 2–3 years). The subframe timbers, if they're H3 treated pine, will also last 20+ years.

Do I need a council permit for a deck?

In Victoria, decks over 800mm above natural ground level, or attached to a dwelling in certain zones, may require a building permit. We'll check the requirements for your specific property and council at the quote stage.

How long does deck installation take?

A standard 30–40m² deck takes 4–7 working days including footings, subframe, decking boards, and stairs. Complex multi-level decks or large projects may take 2 weeks.
