Plain concrete is usually cheaper up front — about $90–$120/m² including GST, compared with pavers from $140/m². Exposed aggregate concrete ($145–$210/m²) costs about the same as brick paving. Pavers don't crack like a slab, and they can be lifted and re-laid if the ground moves or a pipe needs fixing.
A patio, path or small driveway of around 20m² usually takes 3–5 working days, from excavation to final clean-up, weather permitting. Bigger driveways and pool areas take longer — your written quote shows the expected days on site.

It depends on the job. Stone laid on a mortar bed — crazy paving, and bluestone or travertine around pools and patios — usually gets grouted joints, which are firm and easy to keep clean. Pavers laid on a compacted sand and crushed-rock base, like brick and concrete pavers on driveways and paths, get polymeric sand, which sets firm, stays slightly flexible and helps keep weeds and ants out. We recommend the right one for your area on the site visit.
