A brick fence is a long-term part of your home's street presence. We build front fences, piers and low walls in face brick or recycled brick to match the house, with footings designed for Melbourne's reactive clay and control joints so the wall can move slightly without cracking.
Most brick fences that crack or lean have shallow footings. We dig and pour footings to suit the soil and the wall height, and step them on sloping blocks so each section sits level.
In heritage overlay areas — common in Boroondara, Stonnington and parts of Monash and Glen Eira — front fences can need a planning permit, and height limits apply in many zones. Check with council before you commit; we'll help you understand what applies.
