A slab for a shed, carport, water tank or patio needs to be level, well-drained and strong enough for what sits on it. We excavate, compact a crushed-rock base, set formwork, place reinforcement mesh on bar chairs and pour, then finish and cure the concrete properly.
Garden shed slabs are usually thinner than slabs for carports or caravans. Heavier loads need a thicker slab, heavier mesh and a deeper base; we specify both in the written quote.
On Melbourne's reactive clay, saw-cut control joints let the slab crack in straight, planned lines rather than randomly. Falls are set so water runs off the slab and away from buildings.
